The Haemodialysis Centre of St John Ambulance Malaysia – Selangor Coastal Area (SJAM-KPS) – has plans in the pipeline to provide rural communities living with kidney disease with dialysis services.
SJAM-KPS chief operating officer, Datuk Yeo Kim Thong said plans were being discussed to set up three dialysis centres in rural areas within a span of two to three years.
We are eager to bring the services to the rural communities to cut down their expenses and travelling time to bigger towns for treatment, he said.
Caring Pharmacy Retail Management Sdn Bhd, continuing with its corporate social responsibility efforts, contributed RM25,000 to Haemodialysis Centre of SJAM-KPS. Datuk Yeo Kim Thong said the funds would be used to maintain and service the 230 units of dialysis machines equipped at 17 centres.
Caring Pharmacy Group Berhad managing director Y.S. Chong said the funds were collected from a charity campaign held last year from June 1 to December 31, where RM2 from each unit of Good Morning Vplus Nutritious Drink sold was contributed to the fund.
Chong and Good Morning Global Sdn Bhd founder and chief executive officer Datuk Dr Lim Sin Boon said Haemodialysis Centre SJAM-KPS does a great job in the delivery of these services.
St John Ambulance Malaysia is proud to operate 17 dialysis centres nationwide with more than 230 dialysis machines and more than 450 dialysis patients under care.
