Over recent weeks, Hong Kong has seen demonstrations which resulted in a number of injured people. While these events continue, Hong Kong St John Ambulance’s first aid teams and ambulances were deployed for duty, providing care for everyone in need of first aid and medical support without regard to their race, class or political views. Hong Kong St John Ambulance has continuously upheld political neutrality at all times.
Since the Hong Kong anti-extradition bill protests in June 2019, St John has helped over 380 people by providing first aid and medical support to them. Over 900 volunteers of Hong Kong St John Ambulance Brigade have provided on the spot support to those suffering from cuts, bruises, fractures etc., and transported those with more severe injuries to local hospitals for further assessment and treatment.
