Mrs. Marika Beaumont was originally recognized for consideration as a Member of the Order for her efforts, vision, and desire to enhance the St. John Ambulance Youth Program locally, throughout Ontario and Canada. Through her mentorship and knowledge, she made positive changes in several key areas including with Youth (Cadet) Non-Commissioned Officers, Knowledge of the Order training, the Youth Camp Accreditation Program and Youth Leadership Training in Ontario and Canada. With her energy, passion and insight Mrs. Beaumont guided the St. John Youth Program in a positive direction and continues to be a strong advocate for youth engagement in St. John Ambulance, reflecting the core values of St. John.
In her own words, Marika shared: “I have continued as a Provincial Advisor for Youth, as a Council for Ontario Board Member, Provincial Commissioner, among other positions. I continue to work on the development of our unit leaders through creation of training, presentations at conference and leading a board committee with the mandate of leadership development and human resource support. I support conferences and competitions at the provincial level in a senior logistics role. I have represented Ontario as a Chapter Representative at the National level and currently sit on the National Nominations Committee. I continue to volunteer with SJA because I get great satisfaction knowing that I am supporting other leaders and members to grow and continue to support their community.”
